“The lineup of activities marking the second term of the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu kicked off with a three-in-one ceremony. Actem News Africa can report that the celebration which comprised a public lecture delivered by Prof. Adigun Agbaje, the launching of a book titled ‘The Incident Commander’, and the ‘Echoes of the Drums’ stage play by journalist cum thespian, Ola Awakan held in the Shell Hall of the Muson Centre, Lagos.

 

 

The book ‘The Incident Commander: Leadership and Heroism in Times of Crisis’ was done in honour of the resilience and excellence of the Lagos State Governor in the first four years especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was officially launched by the Chief Launcher, the Board member of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan.

In his remarks, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu noted that the book highlighted the strides and achievements the state made during and after the COVID-19 era. ‘While I thanked everyone who contributed in one way or the other to this book, I could not help but dedicate the book to all the frontline workers who worked with the State Government to break the transmission of the virus. They are the real heroes of that trying period in our dear State’, Sanwo-Olu affirmed.
The 301-page book, edited by Hope Eghagha and Sola Ojewusi, is a collection of 25 articles and essays authored by distinguished journalists and writers, and reviewed by Mr. Ray Ekpu, a doyen of Nigerian journalism and co-founder of Newswatch magazine.

The Board member of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan hailed the excellent performance of the Governor during the first tenure while charging him to do more in the second term which begins next week. To the record of ‘The Incident Commander’, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan had written in an earlier piece, ‘The Lagos State Resilience Strategy is an initiative of Mr Governor, with the aim of enhancing sustainability, while addressing issues of climate change and infrastructure.’
