AYO OGUNSAN HONOURED WITH PCRC AWARD AT 7TH BIENNIAL CONFERENCE; RESTATES COMMITMENT TO PEACE AND SECURITY IN NIGERIA

Consequent upon his longstanding commitment to the ideals of community engagement in policing, peaceful coexistence, enduring harmony, and safety and security in Nigeria, the Board Member of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) and Chairman of the Executive Group, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan was yesterday honoured by the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Lagos State. The Committee bequeathed this honour on its first and actively-serving Patron, Ogunsan at the 7th biennial conference which held Thursday 23rd November in Oregun, Lagos,

The conference which was themed ‘Policing Together, Securing Together’ also had other distinguished personalities winning PCRC awards. They include the DIG in charge Force CID, DIG Abiodun Alabi; AIG in charge of Zone 2, AIG Ali Ari Muhammed; Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, Pastor Sam Adeyemi who was also named PCRC Lagos Patron; the National Chairman of PCRC, Alh. Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan, the Lagos PPRO, SP Benjamin Hundeyin among others.

Speaking on the award, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan who is renowned nationwide for his active involvement and participation in ensuring safety and security was appreciative of the honour. He noted: ‘security becomes effective when citizens understand that their lives and livelihood depends on it. At that instance, we don’t point fingers at a small group of people to say ‘they are responsible. We will see all of us as responsible for our security.’

‘I am known for societal development and peace-building, I will remain so by the Grace of God’, the 1st Patron of PCRC Lagos,  as he reiterated his commitment to supporting PCRC as an organization as well as pushing for reforms which will enhance security across Nigeria.
