BEHOLD THE WOMAN OF INTEGRITY ~ RsdNews

Today in our society, the word Integrity could be rightly said to be a very scarce commodity in terms of the practice of it. People talk Integrity, some shout about it, but very few put it into practice and one of such individual is Mrs Nikki Nkechinyere Duru, who was recently conferred with the prestigious, WOMAN OF INTEGRITY OF THE YEAR, by Nigerian Association of Christian Journalists (NACJ).

With an amiable demeanor, caring disposition, charismatic nature and a burning zeal for Gods work, Mrs Nikki Nkechinyere Duru is an active member of St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church 1004, Victiria Island Lagos.

She was born to *Barr. & Elder Mrs Benedict O. Iguh* and is the first child among three other siblings. She started her secondary education at Ovim Girls Secondary School in Abia State. She later proceeded to the University of Calabar and University of Ibadan, where she obtained her Bachelors and Masters Degrees.

She began her career as a Language Editor at the Nigerian Institute of Social & Economis Research (NISER) Ibadan Oyo State where she won the Best Worker Award for her excellent work ethics and value addition to the Research Institute.
In 1993, she relocated to Port Harcourt and joined the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC). She later got transfered to Lagos and by dint of hard work, rose to her current role as the Contracts and Service Compliance Manager..

She is human development manager, and also passionate about her catholic faith. She has contributed immensely to the work of God in her Parish and beyond. She has held the following post both in her Parish and the Deanery

She is the immediate Second Vice President, Catholic Women Organisation (CWO) St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church 1004, VI Lagos.

Incumbent President, Confraternity of Our Mother of Perpetual Help St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1004, VI Lagos; the Vice President, Confraternity of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, Island Deanery, Lagos. She is
Former Secretary, Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary, St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1004, VI Lagos.

She is also, Welfare Officer, Friends of the Needy (FON) Society St Charles Borromeo Catholic Chutch, 1004, VI Lagos;

She is a multiple Award recipient within and outside the church. Some of them include,
Pillar of Charity Award, by the Confraternity of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Archdiocese of Lagos. Appreciation Award, by the National Body of the Confraternity of our Mother of Perpetual Help.
Meritorious Service Award, by the SHELL Branch of the Petroleum & Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN); to mention just a few.

Apart from the several awards to her credit, she is also a top flight personality holding top executive she is the

Mrs Nikki Nkechinyere Duru is a philanthropist and has positively impacted many lives. She has initiated and executed various projects and programmes including Back to School projects, Widows and Widowers Empowerment, sponsoring of indigent children to schools; orphanage visits, rehabilitation of teenage pregnand girls, rehabilitation of street boys; scholarship award to physically challenged persons among others.
She is a marriage counsellor, and mentors young people who are preparing for marriage; and an astute believer that a good Christian home is the foundation for raising Godly and successful children.

Her hobbies include singing, reading and volunteering for charity work. She is happily married to the love of her life, Engr. Aloy Duru and they are blessed with wonderful children.
