In it’s determination to combating the menace of drug abuse and illicit substances in the society, The Coalition of Nigerian Youth on Security & Safety Affairs (CONYSSA) in conjunction with National Drug law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) had a conference to sensitise the youths on the dangers of drug abuse.
The Conference with the theme: Drug Abuse and Illicit substance Reduction: Role of Youth Organisations, was held on Wednesday 12th July, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Gbaja-Surulere, targeting teenagers and youths within Lagos State and it’s environs.
Delivery the opening remark, the State Coordinator CONYSSA, Amb. Akanni Micheal noted that love and creating warmth through education are powerful tools in fighting against drug abuse demand.
Love is an extraordinary force that has the potential to heal, inspire and transform lives.
By providing accurate information about the dangers of substance abuse, we can equip individuals with the knowledge they need, to make informed decisions.
Education should not only be limited to schools but also extended to the larger communities.
By raising awareness and fostering dialogue, we can dispel misconceptions and stigmas surrounding addiction, creating an environment where those in need feel comfortable seeking help without fear of judgement.
