The Commissioner of Police in Lagos Command has warned motorcycle riders that the ban on motorbikes across selected parts of Lagos as announced by the Governor of Lagos state, Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu over a year ago is still very much in place and there will be full enforcement under his administration. Therefore, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP gathered that motorcycles will continue to be impounded by officers of the Lagos State Police Command if they pass prohibited routes.
CP Adegoke Fayoade made this known when he gave an account of his first month in office yesterday in Ikeja attended by NAOSNP team, Lagos. To emphasize the ban, he noted: ‘In the same period under review, a total of One Thousand and Fifty (1,050) motorcycles were impounded on prohibited routes.’
He added: ‘I use this medium to assure Lagosians that the Command under my watch would continue to do everything operationally possible to ensure that crime and criminality is brought to the barest minimum in the State.’
