The Chief of Staff to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, has called on the new Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Government, Hon. Rekiya Hassan, to extend care and support to the family of the late former Chairman, Hon. Dotun Olakanle.
Chief of staff made this appeal during the burial service of Hon. Dotun Olakanle, held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, King’s Court Parish, Ikeja, Lagos.
Ayinde expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Hon. Olakanle, describing his death as a shocking and untimely loss. However, he took solace in the belief that the departed was now resting in the bosom of the Lord.
It will be recalled that the late Hon. Dotun Olakanle, popularly known as *Tant’oloru*, passed away a few weeks ago following a brief illness, at the age of 54.
During the sermon at the funeral service, Pastor Kunle Onafowokan of RCCG King’s Court Parish described the late Hon. Dotun Olakanle as a devout man who loved God passionately and dedicated all his resources to serving Him during his lifetime. The pastor commended the selfless impact Hon. Olakanle made in the church and in the lives of many, often without seeking recognition.
Pastor Onafowokan also prayed for the family the deceased left behind, as well as for the Onigbongbo Local Government, asking that the Almighty God grant them comfort and strength during this difficult time.
Following the service, Hon. Olakanle’s remains were laid to rest at a private cemetery in Ikoyi.
