Female pant, 648 wraps of Indian hemp, charms, others recovered from cultists

A female pant, 648 wraps of substance suspected to be Indian hemp, grinder used to grind cannabis, various charms, among others, have been recovered from some young men said to belong to a cult group during a raid on their hideout by operatives of the Delta State Police Command, the command announced in a statement on Friday, January 14.

The young men were said to have been arrested by police operatives attached to the Command’s Raiders unit when they raided the hideout of the cultists at Ogarafe, Oghara in Ethiope West Local Government Area of the state following a tip-off.

It was gathered that the cultists had been terrorising the area for some time and following a tip-off, the policemen swooped on their hideout and effected their arrest while they are currently at the police headquarters giving useful information to the policemen.

According to a statement by the state police command through its Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, posted on the Facebook wall of the command on Friday, items found with them during their arrest included a female pant, 648 wraps of substance suspected to be Indian hemp, various charms.

Other items said to have been recovered from them included one knife, 16 bottles of codeine, ten packs of razlers, one grinder used in grinding weeds and the sum of N69,000.

The statement added that investigations about their activities are ongoing after which they will be prosecuted in the court of law.
