IFAKO-IJAIYE GRADUATES 100 ICT TRAINEES, TO TRAIN 2,500 MORE
It was yet another empowerment event at Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government on Saturday 29th January 2022 as 100 participants of the just concluded Basic Training in ICT were graduated and awarded certificates.
The four-week training titled “Basic Digital Literacy Program” was in partnership with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and delivered by Tech4Dev.
The Executive Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, Prince Usman Hamzat, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Partnerships and Innovation, Mr. Olufemi Ojo, thanked the UK Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office and Tech4Dev for partnering with the Local Government to deliver the training. He enjoined the participants to see the training as their avenue to a brighter future and encouraged them to use the skills gained for their growth.
The Chairman promised more digital trainings as a partnership with Microsoft was in the works to berth the training of 2,500 people on various digital skills.
Tech4Dev’s Program Lead, Mrs. Blessing Ashi, praised the Executive Chairman for his dedication towards the empowerment of the youths. She noted that technology is the skill of the future. She said the skills gained by the participants had made them accessible to a global marketplace.
A number of the participants who commented on the training spoke glowingly of their experiences and are full of praises for the Chairman.
The graduands included person’s living with disabilities, youths from various communities in the Local Government Area and members of staff of the Local Government.
