June 12 cannot- be erased no matter the pressure as one of the lovers of democracy Alhaja Comrade Aminat Irawo defy every odd to express her heartfelt gratitude at the 32 years of cancelation of democracy in Nigeria to the MKO family and lovers of MKO family in Lagos.

 

Comrade Aminat Irawo made this declaration at the laying of wreath and presentation of awards to people of Nigeria as a symbol of her love to democracy and lovers of June 12 on Thursday June 12th 2025. MKO’s house Toyin street Ikeja. Alhaja Irawo said She love the families of MKO as she indeed love MKO “we love you, we love your family” is the word that proceed to Mr. Lekan Abiola t-he eldest son of Kudirat Abiola.

 

The high point of the event occurred when the son of the acclaimed winner of June 12 election, Mr. Lekan Abiola received the award given to his father Chief MKO Abiola the unruled president of June 12 presidential election and Abiola family in general. Though the award was initially reserved for the first daughter of the family as is her custom and her female group since 2000 but because she was not available to collect Mr Lekan stood in for her.

 

In another vein the Lagos state received the certificate of recognition instead of an award from comrade Irawo in the presence of all participants at the MKO residence. Special Adviser to the Lagos governor, Mr. Gboyega Akosile received the award on behalf of the governor as he praises the efforts being devoted to the renewed hope agenda of the President of Nigeria, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He equally thanks the gathering and residence of Lagos state for allowing the governor, Babajide SanwoOlu to deliver the dividend of democracy.

 

Earlier, Comrade Irawo said she didn’t initiate the awards but all were approved by the members of June 12 renewed hope. She also uses the time to appreciate the efforts of Comrade Debo Adeniran who she also made to testify and approved the award given to the governor publicly. Also, the women endorse t-he awards, as they applaud her at the presentation.

 

Comrade Adeniran was awarded in recognition of his leadership in human right contribution to social justice and the fight for freedom for the Nigerian people that is an anti-corruption crusade fight. Adeniran uses the medium to Comrade Irawo. He appreciates despite that he is not conversant in receiving awards but for every human leadership and dedicated followers to succeed the legacy of human rights.

 

Present are the women of June 12 renewed hope, physically challenged and traders in Lagos state as well as a group of artisans, vulnerable and gentlemen of the press.
