LAGOS FRSC DEPLOYS 3500 MARSHALS, 62 VEHICLES FOR EASTER CELEBRATION
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos Sector Command has deploy 3,500 personnel comprising both Regular and Special Marshals, 45 Patrol Vehicles, 3 Ambulances, 11 Power Bikes, 3 Heavy-Duty Tow Trucks to all major corridors in Lagos metropolis for safety during the Easter Celebration.
The Sector Commander, Corps Commander Babatunde Farinloye, stated this in a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Sector Public Education Officer, Superintendent Route Commander Olabisi Sonusi in Lagos. Corps Commander Babatunde Farinloye stated that personnel will be deployed mostly to Lagos-Ibadan, Lekki-Epe, Lagos-Abeokuta, Oshodi-Apapa and Lagos-Badagry Corridors.
NAOSNP can report that the FRSC personnel will ensure free flow of traffic, check speed violation, dangerous driving, use of phone while driving, overloading and other life threatening infractions and also also attend promptly to emergencies.
Other offences like failure to carry passengers’ manifest for commercial drivers, refusal to use seat belts, and use of worn-out or expired tyres will not be overlooked as well.
Farinloye stated that the command will carry out aggressive public enlightenment at major motor parks and worship centres, while Regular and Special Marshals will be on the road for traffic calming and control during the period. He added that the Corps will be working with the Nigeria Police, National Emergency Agency (NEMA), Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) LASTMA in case of any emergency situation. He, however, expressed optimism that motorists will cooperate with traffic managers on the roads to reduce crashes to the barest minimum.
He admonished the motoring public to make use of FRSC toll-free number 122 in case of emergencies during the course of their journeys.
