Lasgobic evaluates Lsetf performance only, as over 40 Lasg ministries and agencies run away from criticism

Out of over 40 Lagos State Government Ministries and Agencies, which were formally Invited to present their achievements and good intensions to the public, absconded criticism, as the Lagos State Employment Trust Funds only stood fit to present its achievements at the evaluations programme of Lagos Status Governance Builder’s Independent Group.

The Executive Secretary of LSETF, who was represented by the agency’s head of business support, Mrs Taiwo Olaniyan who made it known in her presentation, that the Agency has been able to support over 214 business with loans from different sector between the year 2021 and 2022,as an enabler of Job creation in Lagos, at the 2022 Lasgobic performance evaluation programme held on Friday, at Raddison Blue Hotel GRA ikeja.

She described Agency as one which provides affordable loans with single digit that can be accessed at no cost. While she stated that Lagos State has remained committed to give Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry free store at the upcoming Lagos Trade Fair.

The Evaluator & Ex General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Opajide Oduyoye expressed usefulness and importance of the programme to the benefit of both the people, and government, because so many people did not trust and understand how the government works, and however useful to restore public trust through the culture of accountability, peace advocacy, citizen engagement, effective representation and reports.

He commended the Lagos State Government on the area of Camera installation at some junctions in Lagos kind of populations that is more higher than that of Los Angeles in the United State of America.

He thereby urged government in his address that 20 years time of establishing LASTMA has been long in the State for things not to have been changed and improved, to continue to make Lagos liveable for all, because we cannot sit down and depend on human traffic controller. He said.

By now, in order to reduce traffic law offender and rely on other move in controlling traffic, LASTMA officials should have been trained and improved beyond standing with uniforms on the roads, teaching people to obey the traffic, but needed to be replaced thoroughly with Technological gadgets and devices.

The Convener of Lasgobic, Mr. Emmanuel Amuwo expressed sadness as the ministry of Information and Strategy dishonoured the group invite last year, and appealed to Lagos ministries and agencies to ensure they make themselves ready to present their achievements to the public so as to show themselves as honest and accountable to sell themselves if invited to showcase what government organisations have done for the betterment of Lagos State. But if they fail to showcase the Governor of the State should hold his cabinet members accountable for any flop and unwanted failure.

Other Evaluators in attendance were Mr. Shola Adegborioye, Mrs Titilayo O. Alade, Mr John Wesley and Miss Ayomide Oguntoye.
