Let’s stand up for our Girl-Child—Ojelabi
Every year on October 11, the World celebrates the International Day of the Girl Child.
On this day, l want us all to raise awareness about the importance of equal opportunities for our girls, girls’ health, girls’ safety as well as girls’ protection.
We know that our girls have more potentials and prospects than the world realises. Therefore, we all must stand up to raise a voice for the girl-child in a world where their existence is being threatened.
For so long, our girl-child has been discriminated against. It has been long that they have been suffering from certain deprivations. Thus, let us now get their honour back so as to put a permanent smile on their faces.
And, while we continue to advocate for the rights of girls, I will urge every girl child to brace up and do more to compete favourably with their peers across the globe.
