My Silence Doesn’t Mean I’ve Left APC -Amaechi….It is the Handiwork of Mischief-Makers: Eze Reacts to Fictitious Media Report Purportedly Credited to Amaechi, Alleging that the Former Rivers Governor Regrets Joining APC

Erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP) and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has flatly disclaimed a trending report authored by one faceless media rapscallion called Ibeh, purporting that former Rivers Governor and ex-Transportation Minister, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi regrets joining the All Progressives Congress.

The concocted report, tactically embellished with summary issues to curry public validity, was deceitfully coined in a tone that suggests it emanated from the former Rivers Governor, whereas, the writer and his source have no link whatsoever with the south-south leader of the ruling APC.

Reacting via a statement made available to the media, Chief Eze, a close ally and confidant of the former Transportation Minister said Amaechi never had any media audience with any faceless character neither did he authorize anyone anywhere to manufacture such falsehood as the report portrays, stressing that the ex-Governor of Rivers State does not entertain any regrets in building and nurturing the APC into a formidable political bloc.

Emphasizing that leadership failure has little or nothing to do with political party in the Nigerian context, the APC Chief said Amaechi, like every other Nigerian regrets the odious insensitivity of the ruling class to the plight of the ordinary people of the country and the difficult times the loud negligence of government holds as a consequence, but however maintained that the author of the vague piece in circulation is on the frolics of his own, as he did so on his own volition.

Eze went further to State that “as an outstanding stakeholder within the political family of the erstwhile Governor of Rivers State and former Minister of Transportation, I read with great disdain, the fabricated falsehood by Ibeh, that Amaechi regrets joining and expanding APC and all other rubbish he stated in his false report.

Ordinarily, I wouldn’t have decided to join issues with demented, unscrupulous and undemocratic merchants of satanic world on their ill fated assumption concerning the political life of Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. Doing so, definitely will amount to glorifying detractors, backstabbers, and habitual blackmailers like Ibeh, who are threatened by Amaechi’s silence in the affairs of the ruling All Progressives Congress.

However, as a progressive, humane and grassroots oriented politician, and considering the fact that Amaechi is one of the key political gladiators that formed APC and eventually wrestled power from the Peoples Democratic Party, I am constrained to set the records straight.

For posterity sake, I have come to make this clarification in order not to massage the political ego of ungrateful allies as keeping quite will send a dangerous signal in the APC family and the country’s polity.

Flowing from the above summation, I make bold to state that Amaechi’s silence in the affairs of our great party is purely a personal issue and based on self convictions. It has come to my knowledge of an orchestrated mischief and a deliberate but concerted effort aimed at maligning and placing Amaechi in public opprobrium. The said report ascribed to Amaechi, to say the least, is a handiwork of denigrated political charlatans and their sponsors who are hell-bent on destroying a hand that once fed them. Amaechi is a complete partyman, a strategist, a proactive and focused politician, who would not condescend so low to rant publicly on issues that would negate the growth and existence of APC and intra party politics.

In view of the foregoing, I warn those peddling such devious reports to
stop wasting their time to force Amaechi to speak. Amaechi has not as claimed by some mischievous group, regrets joining the APC.

All these are devilish acts by some disgruntled elements to attribute statements never made by Amaechi to him following his long silence. His decision to keep mute in the political scheme of things doesn’t in any way mean that he regrets joining APC

I drew the attention of Amaechi to the false report, which he vehemently refuted claiming not ever encountered the diabolical Ibeh talk less of discussing anything with him about whatever he perceives as his trial in the hands of APC leadership. According to Amaechi, “I did not say that rubbish”

I must state that I am fully aware of the sponsor of such a diabolical act aimed at demeaning the person and personality of Amaechi before the public but that is an exercise in futility.

I am aware that many people are not happy about the continued silence of Amaechi on political issues surrounding our nation but using falsehood like this type of report to force him to speak about his future political mission is just a waste of time as he is enjoying his rest which has kept some enemies of this country uncomfortable.

Let me state categorically that Amaechi didn’t utter or was interviewed by the mysterious Ibeh as he has no regret of joining APC and bringing it to power. He has no regret for whatsoever he did in making history by transforming the rail transportation in Nigeria or neither does he have any regret bringing Buhari to power.

I counsel those behind the fabricated falsehood aimed at denting the hard earned political image of Amaechi, to leave him alone until such a time he needs to address the nation accordingly

All these are acts by some undesirable junkyard snakes in green grass to attribute statements never made by Amaechi to him.

I repeat for the umpteenth time, Amaechi’s decision to keep silence doesn’t in any way suggest that he regrets joining APC.

Rotimi Amaechi Wrote :

“I started regretting my decision for joining and expending so much on APC when I discovered some top APC chieftains from CPC and ACN blocs were working clandestinely against my confirmation as Minister by the National Assembly.

If you recalled, unlike other nominees, I attended several NASS screening sessions before I was attended to.I don’t know why they did it but if not for the firm stand of Dr Bukola Saraki,I wouldn’t have been confirmed as a minister.

I will remain grateful to him. What they failed to do at the National Assembly they succeeded in doing when the President was apportioning ministerial portfolios. Against my wish,I was given minister of Transport.

As if that is not humiliating enough, they removed the juicy department of that ministry( Aviation) and made it a semi autonomous Ministry under my Minister of State. I cannot exonerate the President from not knowing how I am being shabbily treated because my pact was with him and he knew what my dues were supposed to be but today,he has not redeemed any of the promises to me.

I begin to ask myself everyday why I made such a political blunder. The most painful thing is that,my people who used to love me now hate me.

They hate me for joining APC. Look,it is not about Goodluck or anybody. The people of Rivers see APC as a dubious arrangement and unanimously vowed never to support the party. If you want to prove me wrong, let Wike as powerful as he is now in the PDP try it by jumping to APC,he will never convince the people to go along with him.

That is the mistake Akpabio just made. The people of Akwa Ibom,Cross Rivers and Rivers think same politically. APC can never be their choice of a political party. Don’t be deceived, these states do not want favors or anything from the CENTRE unlike most states.

They are self sufficient and cannot be induced with anything. Take my case for example. A commissioner for Transport in Rivers State is more comfortable that a Minister for transport at the Federal. This is the truth. I have bore all travails I am suffering in APC with all equanimity but there comes a time where I have to start weighing my options and that time is now.

Ibeh, let me tell you,I don’t think I have the will to work for APC any longer. I cannot point to anything they have done better than PDP except bad governance. I have been rendered politically indolent. The only tangible thing I have done of late is to be commissioning railway projects executed by the Jonathan’s PDP regime.

Do you know how painful that is? It is as humiliating and painful as when a goalkeeper has to bring the ball from his own net put there by the opposing team. Ibeh, the reason I have not left APC is no longer what people will say about it.

It is because I have not been approached by any serious party. You know with my political standing,I should not be the one to beg parties to accept me. They should court and beg me to join them.

Even if PDP comes calling now,I don’t know whether I have the courage to refuse them”

Conclusively, Eze went further to highlight and restated that as a committed party leader and nationalist, Amaechi wishes to see a Nigeria that runs, mutatis mutandis, on the mantra of sincere change which is the fulcrum around which the ambition of the APC revolves.

Eze stated that we are fully aware that further evil reports are being prepared against Amaechi but they can be rest assured that we are well prepared for them and will attend to them accordingly

Eze in conclusion called on the reading public to disregard the mendacious publication in its entirety emanating from the conners of smear campaigners who derive pleasure in smirching the reputation of Amaechi as a format to gain publicity and attract patronage from his political adversaries and non-democrats.
