NSCDC TO PARTNER ANAMBRA BROADCASTING SERVICE IN THE TASK OF NATION BUILDING

The Anambra State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command, Mr. Everestus C. Obiyo JP has assured residents in Anambra of the Commands’ readiness to deliver on its core mandates, ensure the safety of the entire Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) and maintainance of law and order in the State.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Command’s Spokesperson, DSC Okadigbo Edwin stated that, “The State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command, Mr. Everestus C. Obiyo JP has assured residents of Anambra State of the Commands’ readiness to deliver on its core mandates, ensure the safety of the entire Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) and maintainance of law and order in the State.”

According to the statement, “Mr. Obiyo gave the assurance when he received on a courtesy visit the Director, News and Current Affairs (DNCA) Anambra Broadcasting Service, Mrs Chinyelu Obiejesi in his office at the State Command Headquarters, Awka.”

“The State Commandant appreciated the management of Anambra Broadcasting Service for effective reportage and promotion of the Commands’ activities in the State.”

He explained that since the advert of social media, fake News had become the order of the day but the role of the mainstream media can not be over emphasized for prompt factual reporting of security and related issues happening around the State.

According to Mr. Obiyo , partnering with ABS would ensure that the public perceive themselves as partners with the NSCDC and this would restore their trust and confidence in the Corps and help improve the prevention and control of crime.

Earlier, Mrs Chinyelu Obiejesi ,the News and Current Affairs Director, Anambra Broadcasting Service, stated that ABS had been in the forefront of propagating peace and unity as such will NSCDC to produce programs that will enlighten and project activities of the command in the State.

She commended efforts of the Corps in the fight against pipeline vandalization, protection of critical national assets and Infrastructure and the zeal to stop illegal dealings in petroleum products amongst others.

The News Director was accompanied on the visit by some staff of the news directorate.
