NYSC PAYS LAST RESPECT TO PA ADETIRAN WITH ICONIC ANTHEM

The National Youth Service Corps in Lagos State performed a special rendition as a sign of acknowledgement and last respect to the composer of NYSC anthem, Dr Isaac Oluwole Adetiran during a Service of Songs organized in his honour by the Celestial Church of Christ at Blue Roof, Lagos State Television, Ikeja.

The event, cramped with important dignitaries and choristers of the church world-wide, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General MK Fadah, was represented by the Lagos State Coordinator, Mrs Yetunde Baderinwa, who led officials of the scheme and the NYSC band to grace the occasion.

Pa Isaac Oluwole Adetiran(MON) while alive, was renown for his musical skill after studying Musicology at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He composed the NYSC anthem in 1984 while serving the nation at The Polytechnic Ibadan, Oyo State.

Before his death, he was inducted into the NYSC hall of fame as his picture and work made entry into the scheme’s museum at the NYSC Directorate Headquarters, Abuja.

Dr Assistant Venerable Isaac Oluwole Adetiran died on the 6th of May this year, at age 74 after living an accomplished and impactful life in his chosen career.
