The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Ondo State, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola, has commended the impressive turnout of voters across the state for the ongoing governorship election. While monitoring the election in Akure South, Ifedore and Idanre local government areas, Babalola expressed satisfaction with the large number of residents exercising their civic duty

The electoral process has been largely smooth, with the commission deploying electoral materials an hour before the commencement of accreditation and voting. However, there were isolated cases of BVAS malfunctioning in some polling units, which were promptly addressed by the commission’s officials. This swift response ensured minimal disruption to the voting process.

Babalola’s monitoring team included INEC National Commissioner Mr. Kenneth Onyeakwu, State Commissioner of Police Mr. Abayonmi Oladipupo, and other top security personnel. Together, they visited various wards, including Ebenezer Primary School in Akure South, Sacred Heart Primary School in Gbogi Isikan, and St. Peter’s Primary School in Owode/Muagun.

The successful deployment of electoral materials and the efficient resolution of technical issues demonstrate the effectiveness of the commission’s preparations. The high voter turnout and peaceful atmosphere underscore the commitment of Ondo State residents to democratic participation.y
