ROBBERY / COW RUSTLING / GRIEVOUS HARM INCIDENT – THREE SUSPECTS ARRESTED, CATTLE AND WEAPONS RECOVERED

The Ondo State Police Command wishes to inform the public that one Abdullahi of Okeigbo reported that some armed men stormed his cattle ranch in a commando-like manner and rustled his cattle. In their attempt to prevent the criminals from escaping, he and his son were brutally macheted by the attackers, prompting an immediate call for police intervention.
Acting promptly on the report, operatives of the Command swiftly swung into action, deploying intelligence-led policing, quick tactical response, and the effective use of available technology to pursue the fleeing suspects. This coordinated effort resulted in the recovery of the rustled cattle, the arrest of three suspects, and the recovery of the vehicle used during the operation, which was traced and recovered in Ondo City by operatives of Okeigbo Divisional Headquarters, along with the complainant’s stolen motorcycle and the weapons used by the culprits.
Following this operational success, the Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Adebowale Lawal, commended the operatives for their swift and decisive response, noting that their professionalism and dedication reflect the Command’s strengthened capacity for proactive crime prevention and rapid intervention.
Reassuring the public, the Commissioner affirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to the security of lives and property during and after the festive period, stressing that all necessary measures are being reinforced to sustain peace across the state. To this effect, CP Lawal has directed all DPOs and tactical commanders to remain fully alert and on top of their game, ensuring robust security coverage across all areas throughout this period and beyond.
The Command also appreciates the strategic leadership and continuous support of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, whose reforms and technological initiatives continue to enhance policing efficiency in Ondo State.
The Ondo State Police Command urges residents to remain vigilant, cooperate with security agencies, and promptly report suspicious activities as collective efforts toward a safer society.
