WE ARE SORRY ONBEHALF OF CHIDI LLOYD TO THE CHIEF SECURITY OFFICER OF RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT HOUSE, HIS FAMILY, AND THE GOVERNOR OF RIVERS STATE…. Chizy Enyi Esq.
Let me onbehalf of the Initiative for Transparent Strategy and Good Leadership and the good people of Emohua Local Government Area apologise to the Chief Security Officer of Rivers State Government House, his family, and the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Sir Sim Fubara on the allegation by the former Chairman of Emolga, that the CSO killed the police officer and the vigilantee who died in Omuma recently.
We are all aware that that has been his stock in trade, and at every point in time, he would always want to cash in during crisis to get political appointments. We are indeed very, very sorry. We are aware that his statement is targeted at getting to the ears of the former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike to recommend him for an appointment because he is one man who can not stay without holding political position which has always been personal to his family. Let me use this opportunity to inform the governor and the good people of Rivers State that Emolga people do not behave like that, and therefore, it is time to check the true identity of Chidi Lloyd so that all his unruly antics will not be said to be coming from an Emolga person. Emolga people are truly not of that sorts.
The same Chidi Lloyd and former Council Chairmen who met yesterday and addressed the press that the organised Labour and Nulge are planning to stage protest against the police today for barricading the council secretariat are seen in the streets protesting. What an irony.
Assuming Chidi Lloyd and his former colleagues are still the Chairmen, how will they be supporting the continued takeover of the council without the permission of the Rivers State Government.
What really is the essence of their protest when some of them are lawyers who ought to tell the people the truth instead of playing politics with everything.
The tenure of all the former Chairmen has expired since 17th of June, 2024, and relying on the amendment of the former Assembly members is just hoping on nothing. Apart from the fact that Hon. Justice Kio has nullified that amendment and ordered the Attorney General of Rivers State to delete the amended sections extending the tenure of the Local Government Chairmen in the situation that the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission were unable to conduct local government election, the extention can only be valid when the house by resolution of two third majority of members present, extent the tenure of the Local Government Chairmen. Based on the foregoing, the resolution has not been passed before Martin Amaewhule and others were stopped from parading themselves as members of the House of Assembly by Hon. Justice Wali.
My worry is that these persons are also making references to the matter before the Supreme Court, even when they are not parties to the suit. They also said the matter is before the Court of Appeal and the Court of Appeal ordered that status quo be maintained and I asked what is the status quo when specific relieves sort were granted in part and the court did not invalidate the setting aside the amendment of the Local Government Laws of Rivers State.
For record purposes, I wish to state categorically that Chidi Lloyd, George Ariolu, and Allwell Ihunwo should stop forthwith from misrepresenting facts about the local government matter and their tenureship.
It is very unfortunate and disheartening to note that lawyers like Chidi Lloyd and George Ariolu are misinterpreting facts and misinforming people about the law.
Conclusively, we further beg the CSO Rivers State Government House, his family, and the Executive Governor of Rivers State not to take Chidi Lloyd serious and tamper justice with mercy.
Chizy Enyi Esq,
President General,
Initiative for Transparent Strategy and Good Leadership.
